About the event
Dr. Christoph Licht, MD, FRCP(C), FASN, holds the position as a Paediatric Nephrologist and Associate Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto. He is the Director of the Dialysis & Apheresis Unit at the Hospital for Sick Children and a Senior Associate Scientist at the SickKids Research Institute. He also serves as an Associate Staff Physician at Toronto General Hospital.
Dr. Licht received his clinical training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Nephrology at the University of Cologne, Germany, and completed a Post-doctoral Research Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. His research specializes in complement-mediated renal diseases, particularly atypical haemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS). He leads a translational research program, including an international registry of patients with complement-mediated diseases, and conducts research on the cellular and molecular aspects of aHUS pathogenesis.
Dr. Licht chairs HUS International and the International aHUS Registry, serves on several editorial boards, and has published extensively on his research focus.
